Elva R. Scott Local Historical Society Newsletter Award

The Elva R. Scott Local Historical Society Newsletter Award recognizes a community historical society or museum for its newsletter, a publication, programs, or other significant recent accomplishments. This award (called the Newsletter Award until 2003) is named in honor of Elva Scott, a founder of Homer’s Pratt Museum and after moving to Eagle was a tour guide, officer of its historical society, and editor of their newsletter, the Eagle Wireless, for over 25 years. She was the first recipient of the award when it was initiated in 1988, and is commemorated by the award now given in her name. This award is not given every year.
